Make the most of the home you own

Sometimes a property needs more space. Sometimes it needs the space it already has to work better.

Before deciding what to build or change, it is worth looking at the whole picture: the house, garden, approach and surrounding landscape.

A sheltered terrace connects dining, garden and the wider view.

Look at what is missing

Perhaps there is nowhere comfortable to sit outside, an entrance that feels unwelcoming, or a room that turns its back on a lovely view.

Start with those frustrations rather than a list of features. What would make everyday life better? What do you enjoy already and want to keep?

Choose what matters most

A sheltered terrace, a better connection between rooms and garden, or a clearer arrangement of paths and planting can each make a difference. The right answer depends on how you live, the character of the property and what you want to invest.

Not every opportunity needs to become a project.

Give each phase a purpose

An overall design helps you choose a worthwhile first step while keeping later possibilities in view. Each phase should work in its own right, without losing sight of the longer-term plan.

That is where we start at Dewlands: understanding what you have and what you want it to become.
